Deliberate career management makes you a more effective leader. And you'll learn to apply the same process to develop leadership potential in others.
Professional Development Planning is a fundamental aspect of the Olin EMBA experience. It emphasizes self-awareness, development of individual strengths, and deliberate career management.
Assessment and Coaching
Your professional development journey begins in orientation and continues throughout the program and beyond:
- Quantitative and qualitative personal assessments, with online tools and tracking
- Time for reflection and mid-course corrections
- Membership in a “learning” organization, where everyone is committed to growth and development
Communication and Leadership
Throughout the program, students build communication and negotiation competencies; explore timely issues related to ethical conduct and responsible management; and examine the personal values and individual strengths that shape leadership style and effectiveness.
Personal and Professional Growth
For many, Professional Development Planning is a process of discovery and change; for others, the experience validates and prompts renewed commitment to personal and professional goals. You’ll use these life skills time and again, not only for your own benefit but also to guide and mentor others – the next generation of leaders in your company and community.
