MS in Leadership Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, in partnership with the Brookings Institution, has designed the Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) degree to develop leaders for service as senior federal executives. The program combines the business acumen of Olin faculty with the Brookings Institution's research and policy expertise.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be thoroughly grounded in the Office of Personnel Management's Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), which form the basis for promotion to Senior Executive Service (SES) membership.
- The curriculum is presented as a series of courses that can be taken in any order and spread over the course of several years. Participants may begin the program at any time.
- One- to five-day courses – the majority taught by senior Olin professors – are typically held during the day, leaving evenings and weekends free for other commitments.
- Most courses are offered at Brookings, conveniently located near Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. and the Dupont Circle Metro station.
- A two-week residential capstone course – Two weeklong residential courses held at Olin Business School's Charles F. Knight Executive Education & Conference Center in St. Louis – one course is taken amid study and the other precedes graduating and awarding of the degree.
