David W. Kemper is chairman of the board, president and CEO of Commerce Bancshares, Inc., a $17.9 billion regional bank holding company based in Missouri.  He joined Commerce Bank in 1978 as vice president in charge of commercial lending and in 1991 was named to his current position.  Kemper is a director of Tower Properties Company and Ralcorp Holdings, Inc.  He also serves as an advisory director for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Bunge North America.  He serves as vice chair of the Washington University Board of Trustees and is a board member of the Missouri Botanical Garden and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.  Kemper received a bachelor's degree from Harvard University, a master's degree from Oxford University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
