Olin Business School
Washington University in St. Louis, founded in 1853, has maintained a business school since 1917 and awarded its first undergraduate business degree in 1919. The school added an MBA program in 1950, a doctoral program in 1958, an executive MBA in 1983, and, in 2002, a Shanghai-based Executive MBA offered in partnership with Fudan University.
In 1988, the business school was named in honor of John M. Olin, Chairman of the Olin Corporation and a major benefactor of Washington University, in recognition of a gift from the John M. Olin Foundation.
Mahendra Gupta, PhD, became dean of the Olin School on July 1, 2005, succeeding Stuart I. Greenbaum, PhD, who served as dean from 1995 to 2005. Lending their expertise, wisdom, and strong endorsement to Olin are members of the National Council.
Olin Business School is one of the country's leading research-oriented business schools. Located in the heart of the Midwest, it attracts top faculty and students to its nationally recognized undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. Olin's degree programs are known for their demanding scholastic standards and emphasis on experiential learning.
Olin is fully accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Fifty-four faculty (excluding adjuncts, visitors, and lecturers) are engaged in teaching and research. Of these, 28 are tenured and over half were appointed in the last five to seven years. The Olin Business School's endowment at market value has grown from just over $1.0 million in 1980, to over $249 million at the end of June 2007. Annual Fund giving for the year ending June 30, 2007 was $2.5 million. Total gifts to Olin have averaged $11.1 million annually over the past seven years. Programs
Undergraduate BSBA students take 40-60% of their courses at Olin and are able to formally declare majors in eight areas: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, managerial economics and strategy, organization and human resources, international business, or operations and supply chain management. Olin now offers seven business minors for non-business majors and has introduced a Master of Science in Finance and the Masters of Accounting.
Graduate students are able to pursue the MBA degree either full-time or part-time. Students may also take elective courses from other areas in Washington University including law, health administration and many other fields. Students can also pursue a PhD degree.
The Executive MBA provides state-of-the-art education for experienced managers who have strong potential for professional advancement. The Shanghai Executive MBA, offered in partnership with Fudan University, ranked seventh in the world and first in mainland China according to The Financial Times Global EMBA 2007 rankings.

Facilities
Opened in 1986, John E. Simon Hall is home to Olin's BSBA, full-time MBA and Experiential Learning Programs. The 80,000 square foot building includes modern classrooms and study areas, an extensive library with on-line computer linkups to all major data systems, modern faculty and administrative offices, and a 92-unit computer lab for student use.
Charles F. Knight Executive Education Center, Olin's new executive residential living and learning facility, reflects Washington University's tradition of world-class scholarships and research, as well as Olin's philosophy of education for a lifetime of achievement.
Weston Career Center
The Weston Career Center facilitates the employment process by providing the following services to students, alumni, and employers: on-campus recruiting, resume referrals, and an online job opportunities bulletin. Personalized counseling and company and career information sessions prepare Olin graduates for a successful job search and lifelong career development.
