MBA FAQs

Admissions
Do you have any full-tuition scholarships?

Yes, we have both full- and partial-tuition scholarships. See the financial aid section of this site.

Can I apply for MBA and MS/Finance programs at the same time because I'm interested in both?

Yes, you may apply for both. However, we recommend that you apply to your first choice and ask to be considered for your second choice. Additionally, if you are granted admission from both programs, you may only enroll in one. Students can only take classes as part of one business program. There are no joint degree business programs

I was late for your April 20 admission deadline. Can I still finish my application?

All applications received after April 20 will be reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis. These applications will be reviewed in the order they’re received, and decisions will be made on a space-available basis.

Do you require specific undergraduate classes?

No specific undergraduate courses are required. We just require a four-year undergraduate degree.

Do you offer night classes to receive an MBA? I work full time and am looking forward to continuing my education.

Yes, our Professional MBA (PMBA) program is a part-time program in the evenings leading to an MBA degree. Please look at the PMBA Web site.

I am interested in the MSW/MBA double major. Where can I locate information about that?

We refer to this as a Dual Degree. See our Dual Degree site for program options.

What is Olin's accreditation?

We’re accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

I am a minority applicant and am interested in applying through the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. What is my next step?

You’ll need to apply using the Consortium application. Go to www.cgsm.org for more information or to apply.

International students can’t visit Olin easily. Is this considered a drawback to admissions?

Although we strongly encourage students to visit Olin if they can, there’s no penalty for individuals who can’t make it to campus. Keep in mind, we send representatives to MBA Fairs in many parts of the world and offer personal interviews in these locations. We also conduct telephone interviews. Fairs and off-site interviews don’t take the place of a campus visit, but they do allow for specific questions to be answered individually.

Can I transfer credits from another University?

Once you’ve enrolled at Olin, you may submit for review up to nine credits for transfer from other graduate business programs accredited by the AACSB. Any transfer credit must be reviewed and approved by our Academic Review Committee.
