Program Introduction
Students:
Olin students call our classes challenging, stimulating, and - most of all - interactive. You'll learn through case studies, group discussions, and team projects. Sitting next to you in Olin classrooms will be a select group of students from diverse backgrounds. Olin attracts top students from national and international high schools with 93 percent ranked in the top 10 percent. You'll also learn alongside undergraduates from the Schools of Architecture, Art, and Engineering, as well as the College of Arts & Sciences. They'll challenge you, broaden your experiences, raise your expectations, and work closely with you on teams to reach new heights of achievement.
Faculty:
Olin's faculty is known for great teaching, leading-edge research, and business-world experience. You'll find faculty members accessible for one-to-one consultations and approachable as individuals and mentors. They'll encourage you to visit them outside of class to discuss course work, independent projects, career options, and extracurricular programs. Virtually all courses are taught by regular faculty, not by graduate students.
Class Size:
Olin's size makes a difference in how you feel as a member of the community. With 777 full-time undergraduate students, Olin combines the individual attention of a small school with the resources of Washington University - a top-ranked, national university with 5,890 full-time undergraduate students. In this atmosphere, you find yourself in classes that are stimulating, challenging, and highly interactive - classes in which your participation makes a difference.
