Virus Information

Everyone should have antivirus software!

We recommend either Norton AntiVirus or Symantec AntiVirus for your PC. This is the same software we use on all of our systems at Olin. If you live in University Housing and subscribe to Ethernet Service, your service includes a license for Symantec AntiVirus. Visit the ResTech web site for download links. The software is also available at the book store at reduced rates.

For those of you who don't live in campus housing, there are some other free antivirus programs that are available:

Other antivirus programs include Kaspersky Anti-Virus, McAfee VirusScan, Panda AntiVirus, Sophos Anti-Virus, and Trend Micro PC-cillin among others.

Update your antivirus software!

Make sure your antivirus software detects the latest viruses. Update your software at least once a week, if not daily! See our AntiVirus Update page for links to downloads for the latest updates.
