Update your Drivers and Management Software!
Before you configure your wireless, make sure you install the latest version of the drivers and management software for your Intel wireless adapter. If you have an Intel 2200BG, 2915ABG, or 3945ABG network card you can download the latest software at Intel's web site. (Download link for v10.5.2 for Windows)
The wireless network is a campus network and is outside the Olin firewall. If you need to print or map drives to Olin servers, you must connect using the VPN Client. (Link to Download and Instructions)
Instructions are also available for setting up your laptop print to Olin printers. (Link to Instructions)
Setup Instructions
1. Right click the Intel Wireless icon in your System Tray (the area in lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock) and select Open Intel PROSet/Wireless.
2. Select WUFI-S from the list of Wireless Networks. Click Connect. 3. The Configure Wireless Settings window will open. Verify that the Profile Name and Wireless Network Name(SSID) are both set to WUFI-S (all caps, SSID is case-sensitive!) and click Next. 4. The next window will open with a message that only a portion of the 802.1x security information was detected. This is normal. Click Next. 5. Most of the information on the screen will be correct. Make the following changes then click Next.
- Authentication Type: TTLS (select from drop-down list)
- Username: username@olin (for example, if you name is John Doe and your username is DOEJ, enter DOEJ@olin)
- Password: Enter your password
- Confirm Password: Enter your password again
- Roaming Identity: anonymous@olin
6. Uncheck the box for Validate Server Certificate and click Next. 7. The Configured screen appears. Click OK to connect to the wireless network. 9. Your system will automatically connect to the network and logon whenever it is in range.
