The student computer lab at Washington University's Olin Business School is open 7 days a week and is equipped with over 65 computers and multiple printers. A Lab Manager is on staff to ensure that the lab is running smoothly and that your needs are met. Student lab consultants are available to provide support and answer your questions or direct you to another source for a solution/answer. To better serve your needs as business students, our lab is available only to Business School students (and to other University students enrolled in Business School classes).

Lab Policies

• Smoking is prohibited.
• The lab area is to be maintained as a quiet study area at all times.
• Animals, other than Assistant Animals, are not allowed in the building.
• A three (3) hour time limit will be imposed for use of computers if others are waiting.
• Any student who leaves the workstation unattended for longer than 15 minutes will be logged out so that the workstation may be reassigned to another user.
• During high-use periods, students using computer workstations for purposes other than academic will be asked to relinquish their computer for academic use and to return during a slower period.
• The telephone at the check-in station is to be used only for official business, i.e., calling the Business School Computer Lab (935-5774) for assistance. Public phones are available in a private area around the corner from the computer lab.
• The Olin Computer Lab assumes no responsibility for losses of work in the lab that occur for any reason. Users are responsible for saving work onto a floppy disk, zip disk or in their alloted space on the server. (See a lab consultant for help transferring files.)
• Computing Services reserves the right to change these rules as necessary.

Monday-Thursday	7:30am - Midnight
Friday	7:30am - 7pm
Saturday	10am - 7pm
Sunday	10am - Midnight

NOTE: Hours may vary according to special projects, school breaks and holidays, etc. Consult the the posted hours outside the computer lab, or contact the lab with your query at 935-5774. Additionally, the links page holds current date-specific announcements that may occur regarding lab hours.

Student Lab Consultants

The consultants in the lab are there to:

• help you log into the computer
• reserve student group rooms
• provide printing assistance
• resolve software or hardware related conflicts
• provide minimal instruction for software (open & close a file, etc.)
• provide file management assistance
• provide resource information so you can help yourself
• contact one of our professional staff if there are serious system or account related problems
• provide basic information regarding the Internet and email
• put paper and toner in the printers

The consultants in the lab are NOT there to:

• provide advanced instructional support for any application
• set up your home computers
• provide recommendations about software or hardware purchases for home use
• do your homework
