ACADEMICS

Working full time while earning your Executive MBA has its challenges, but the benefits are clear: you can test those classroom strategies on the job — next Monday.

Earn your Masters of Business Administration degree from Washington University and experience a program structured to help you balance work, family, and a rigorous academic curriculum. We’ve been educating business leaders for 30 years. We provide your textbooks, course materials, parking passes, and meals – so you can focus on learning, not logistics.

Program format
You graduate in 20 months. Classes meet monthly during three-day sessions (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) Expect to devote another 15-20 hours per week doing homework and collaborating with your study group.

Class begins with a weeklong residency in the Charles F. Knight Executive Education & Conference Center on the campus of Washington University.

  • Year-one core courses are held monthly in the city where you enroll. Read about our locations.
  • Year-two theme-based courses are held monthly on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis

Three extended residencies are required.

  1. GO! Week Residency in St. Louis
  2. Leadership Residency in St. Louis

Teaching and Curriculum
Executive MBA courses are taught by Olin Business School’s most seasoned professors, and occasionally a consultant or guest speaker. Teaching methods include case studies, computer simulations and applied-learning projects. Professors bring their research-driven mind-set into the classroom, challenging you to question assumptions, reframe problems, and explore new ideas.

Todd Zenger, PhD, and Lee Konczak, PhD, are the Executive MBA Academic Directors.
