More About Me

I grew up in New Zealand and in 1990 received a B.Sc. (hons) in Mathematics from the University of Auckland. I then spent four years at Stanford University and received my Ph.D. from the department of Operations Research (now the Department of Management Science and Engineering) in 1994.  My first academic position was in the Industrial and Operations Engineering Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  I have been at Washington University in St. Louis since January 2001.  I am married with two daughters, Ebba Maryanne Olsen and Kaia Michelle Olsen.
