Adina D Sterling

Professor Sterling joined the Olin Business School in 2011. Her research focuses on the origins of social capital in product and labor markets. Specifically, she focuses on how individuals and firms acquire social capital and the consequences this has on personnel selection, mobility, and entrepreneurial success. In addition, she studies the influence of social capital in market-mediated employment arrangements, such as temporary and contractual work, and the influence this has on employer-employee matching. Prior to joining Olin, Professor Sterling worked in R&D as an engineer at Procter and Gamble for five years.
