Tom was raised in northern Minnesota and is an avid fan of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. He is married with a daughter.

Mr. Boman is Senior Vice President of Tax for Advantage Capital Partners, a venture capital firm with offices in Austin, TX, Glens Falls, NY, Napa, CA, New Orleans, LA, St. Louis, MO, and Washington, D.C. He is responsible for tax-efficient structuring of portfolio investments, consultation with investors and portfolio companies regarding tax reporting issues, strategic financial planning and tax reporting for the Advantage Capital affiliates. Mr. Boman has over 30 years of experience, primarily as a tax consultant with Big 5 accounting firms. Prior to joining Advantage Capital, he was a senior manager with the St. Louis office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he provided tax consulting services to a variety of companies, focusing primarily on partnerships. Mr. Boman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Bar Association. He is a former member of the Partnership Tax Committee of the AICPA. Mr. Boman serves as an adjunct instructor in the LLM in Tax program at Washington University of St. Louis, teaching partnership taxation and the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis where he teaches basic income tax and a tax planning course.. He received both his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Taxation degrees from the University of Minnesota and his B.A. degree from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota.
