Tom was raised in northern Minnesota and is an avid fan of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. He is married with a daughter.

Tom is Senior Vice President of Finance for Advantage Capital Partners which is an innovative group of venture capital partnerships with more than $800 million under management. Founded in 1992, the firm has grown to include offices in Missouri, Louisiana, New York, Texas, Florida and Washington, D.C., with affiliated offices in Alabama, Colorado and Wisconsin. Tom is responsible for financial and tax reporting for the Advantage Capital funds and related entities. He has over 20 years of experience, primarily as a tax consultant with the Big 4 accounting firms. He also serves as an adjunct instructor in the LLM in Tax Program at the Law School, where he teaches Federal Partnership Taxation.
