International Financial Aid Eligibility

Scholarships for the Full-Time MBA Program
All applicants, both domestic and international, admitted to the Olin MBA program are automatically considered for an array of merit based scholarships which recognize superior academic, professional and community achievements.

In addition to Olin merit-based Scholarships, international students should try to see if they are qualified for any outside scholarships. The following two links may provide some information. The Aga Khan Foundation (http://www.akdn.org/akfisp/HTML/index.html) provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies.

Loans
International students are not eligible for Federal student loans, but may be eligible for private loans.

Alternative Loans with a US Co-signer
Olin offers Alternative Loan Programs especially designed for our international students. These are private loans designed specifically for international students by banks. These programs require international students have a credit-worthy U.S. citizen or permanent resident as a co-signer. You can borrow up to the "cost of education." What this means is that you can borrow tuition + living expenses - any scholarship received. The rates are based on the LIBOR rate, prime or the T-Bill plus a percentage, but vary depending on your co-signer's credit history.

Washington University International Loan Program without a US Co-signer
We also offer international students a student loan whereby they would be eligible without a co-signer. Once you arrive here for classes, there will be an open enrollment period for these loans. The loan amount will be split between the fall and spring semesters. The funds will go directly into your student account at Olin and will be applied to your tuition charges per semester.

Monthly Payment Plan
Washington University offers an interest free payment plan that allows students to spread yearly tuition payments over 10, 9 or 8 months, starting June 1, July 1, or August 1. The deadline to enroll is August 1. There is a yearly administrative fee to join. For specifics about this plan contact (314) 935-5274, or visit the website at http://sfsweb.wustl.edu/sfs/parents/tuitionpay.aspx.
