Full-time MBA Scholarships

Many of Olin's incoming students receive merit-based scholarship aid. All applicants admitted to the Olin MBA program are automatically considered for an array of merit-based scholarships which recognize superior academic, professional, and community achievements. There is no separate application needed for these. The admissions committee reviews your admission application for eligibility - this includes the 15 full-tuition Wood Leadership Fellowships. Approximately 50% of our students, domestic and international, receive merit-based scholarships. The average amount of scholarship awarded to domestic and international students is $8,000 a year. Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to full-tuition. Remember, $8,000 is an average, not the amount awarded to every student. These scholarships are very competitive.

Merit-based scholarship award notification letters will be sent with your MBA Admission letter (see MBA Bulletin for decision deadline dates).

All scholarships are awarded for four semesters of full-time study during the fall and spring semesters. Joint degree programs require that students spend three semesters of full-time study at the Olin School. Therefore, joint degree candidates are only eligible for three semesters of their scholarship award. Merit-based scholarship awards are NOT reevaluated and under no circumstances renegotiated for returning second-year students. Scholarship funds will be used as a direct reduction of your tuition.

Wood Leadership Fellows Program
The Wood Leadership Program offers up to 15 full-tuition MBA scholarships per year, which cover four semesters of full-time study during the fall and spring semesters. Fellowships are awarded based solely on merit. All applicants, domestic and international, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, superb academic achievement, exceptional professional accomplishments, a strong commitment to community service, and well-defined career goals are considered. Finalists will be invited to visit Olin and interview for the fellowship. No separate application is needed to be considered for a Wood Fellowship.

The Wood Leadership Fellows Program is made possible through the generous support of Howard and Joyce Wood, both alumni of Olin. Howard Wood received a bachelor of science degree, and Joyce Wood received both a bachelor of science degree and a master of business administration degree.

Scholarships Requiring a Separate Application

There are three scholarships offered by the Olin School that require submission of a separate application or submission of your Olin admission application by a specific deadline:

Minority Fellowship from the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management
The Consortium was co-founded by the Olin School to encourage enrollment of under-represented minorities in graduate management programs. CGSM scholarships provide full-tuition for MBA study at one of 14 participating schools. You must apply directly through the Consortium for this scholarship. For information, contact the Consortium office at (314) 935-6353.

The Mr. and Mrs. Spencer T. Olin Fellowship for Women
This full-tuition scholarship competition is available to any female graduate of a U.S. baccalaureate institution. Applicants must have their scholarship application in to the MBA program office by February 1 to be considered for the Olin Fellowship for Women. For additional information, call (314) 935-6880.

The Milford and Leona Bohm Scholarship
Full-tuition scholarship, including a $5,000 stipend per year, for graduates of Technion in Haifa, Israel. With your Olin admission application, enclose a cover letter that verifies your eligibility for this scholarship. One winner is chosen per year.
