**Note: You are not required to use Washington University as a lender. If you want to choose another lender, you may be able to complete their MPN online, or you will have to request a paper copy. If you complete a paper copy, please send us a copy as well as your lender. We encourage students to look into all of their lending options.
It is very important that you complete the financial aid forms as early as possible if you have any indication that you may need financial assistance. Do not assume that you will not qualify for financial aid. If you think you may need assistance, complete the necessary forms so that we may determine your eligibility. Remember, if you are in a position where you do not need the award once it is made, you may decline it. It usually takes approximately three months for an award to be processed from beginning to end.

It is important to file your FAFSA two months prior to your deposit deadline if you want to know your financial aid award prior to enrollment.
There is no guarantee that loans will be fully processed by the tuition payment deadline if you file your FAFSA after April 1st. If loan proceeds do not arrive in time, you may be subject to a 2% (assessed monthly) late fee.
