Grocery Stores

The major grocery chains in St. Louis are Schnucks, Dierbergs, and Shop and Save. Use the store locators on the web sites or check the yellow pages for specific locations. Two natural food markets are also nearby: Wild Oats is located in Clayton at Ladue Road just off I-170, and Whole Foods is located in Brentwood at the intersection of Brentwood Boulevard and Eager Road. The Wednesday issues of the Post-Dispatch and Suburban Journal newspapers contain grocery store advertisements.

If you're trying to save some money, there are some discount bare-bones (limited brands, bag-your-own groceries) stores like Aldi or Save-A-Lot at various locations listed in the yellow pages.

In addition, there are many neighborhood grocery stores and "quick shops" (also called convenience stores) such as 7-Eleven. The prices in these smaller places are usually much higher than in the large grocery stores.
