Forest Park forms the eastern border of campus. It contains a world-class art museum, zoon, and 27-hole public golf course, as well as 10 miles of bike paths, an outdoor ice-skating rink, paddle boats, an outdoor theater, and a variety of restaurants.

Housing

Among the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., St. Louis ranks 2nd in the most-affordable housing market. Most Washington University graduate students live in one of the many privately owned apartments located within a 10-block radius of the school. Both furnished and unfurnished rooms, apartments, and houses are available.

Transportation and Parking

A free shuttle service is available between the campus and most of the areas frequented by students, including near-by shopping centers. Public transportation is also available, although most students do own a car.

Campus parking permits are available as daily, monthly, or annual passes; registered students may purchase annual permits online. Daily and monthly permits may be purchased at the campus bookstore.
