REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1- Course Selection:

Select business courses from the PMBA course schedule . An online copy of PMBA course descriptions is available in PDF format. To view PDF files, you'll need to download Acrobat Reader or a hard-copy handout of course descriptions is available in Suite 114. Other division course listings can be viewed at WebSTAC.

Step 2- Student Identification:

For those registering via WebSTAC, you will need to know your nine-digit student identification number or the identification number as documented on your photo I.D. card and your password (formerly called PIN number). Webstac has a new feature that allows you to re-set your password if you have forgotten it, but only after you have set up a "Passphrase" with a "Hint." If you have not yet set up your passphrase and hint, you should do so immediately.

Step 3- Registration:

Due to enrollment limits as well as timely book and packet orders, those registering online should register as early as possible for terms A and B.

  • Please check course descriptions carefully for prerequisite requirements. Students are subject to removal from courses in which the do not meet prerequisite requirements. Students must either meet all prerequisite requirements or obtain special instructor permission prior to enrollment. Course descriptions may be found on the Olin website at www.olin.wustl.edu/pmba/srv/pdf/pmbadescrip.pdf (*PDF 106KB).
  • Pay close attention to the specific class "section" you sign up for, i.e. 01, 02 or 03.
  • Due to the fact that we have mini terms and the University has semesters only, the University's computer system will return a "time conflict error" when you add a Term A and Term B course or a weekend or short course which meet at the same time. It is up to you to verify that the classes actually do not conflict since the system will allow you to override the message and enroll in both courses.
  • You may not be simultaneously enrolled for two classes. Pay close attention to this when signing up for short or weekender courses.
  • NOTE that some courses have limited seating. As you register online for a class which is full, you will be asked if you wish to be put on the wait list. Students on wait lists will automatically be enrolled in the class as seats open up. It is up to you to monitor your enrollment/waitlist status and make any necessary drop/adds.

Step 4 - Tuition:

Tuition for both Mini A and Mini B is due (minus anticipated financial aid) by the first day of the Mini A semester (see tuition deadline chart). A Late Payment Fee will be added ~30 days later and is equal to 2% (assessed monthly) of the outstanding balance. [Payment can be made at the Student Financial Services office in the lower level of North Brookings Hall, Monday through Friday before 5:00 p.m., or it can be mailed to: Washington University, P.O. Box 14627, St. Louis, MO 63150-4627. For students participating in third-party billing, tuition vouchers should be emailed directly to Victoria Sullivan (Victoria_Sullivan@aismail.wustl.edu) at the University's Accounting Services office.] Third Party Billing authorizations received after this date, or employer/sponsor reimbursements which are contingent upon course completion and/or a satisfactory grade will not exempt the student from stated due dates and the assessment of a 2% (assessed monthly) Late Fee. For more information about tuition payment policies, see Tuition Payment Policies and Billing Procedures.

  • PMBA students are charged at a part-time rate as long as they do not go above 9.5 total units. This total includes any combination of courses, i.e. Engineering, University College, etc.

Course Substitution Waivers:
A PMBA student may obtain a waiver for any required course, with the exception of the required strategy courses. In order to receive a waiver, the student must submit a petition to the instructor of the required course and obtain approval. If the student receives such approval, the required course will be waived. However, such waivers will not reduce the student's total number of required hours to earn the MBA degree. Moreover, it will generally be presumed that instructor approval will be granted only where the student has previously passed substantially equivalent coursework during his/her previous education and/or demonstrated competency via related work experience. The instructor for the required course may require the student to enroll in a specific substitute course.

Coursework in Other University Divisions:
PMBA XVIII and all following classes:
The Professional MBA (PMBA) degree program is a 54-semester-credit program. Of those 54 credits, 48 semester credits of coursework must be taken with the Olin graduate faculty within the PMBA curriculum. The additional credit hours (beyond the required credits with Olin faculty) may be taken with Olin faculty, may be approved transfer credits (9 credit maximum) from an AACSB-accredited MBA program, or with prior approval, may be from graduate coursework completed in other divisions of Washington University. Approval will be granted where the coursework has a managerial orientation. An exception to the 48-hour Olin minimum will be granted for those students who submit more than six hours of approved transfer credits from an AACSB-accredited MBA program. Those students will be allowed to reduce their Olin credits to 45 rather than 48. See your advisor if you need clarification.

PMBA XIV, XV, XVI, and XVII:
The Professional MBA (PMBA) degree program is a 54-semester-credit program. Of those 54 credits, 45 semester credits of coursework must be taken with the Olin graduate faculty within the PMBA curriculum. See your advisor if you need clarification.

General Information for Non MBA Students in other Washington University Graduate Programs:

If you are a joint degree student, you must file an intent to graduate form for the other degree through that School or division's Registrar. TUITION PAYMENT POLICY & BILLING PROCEDURES

Students are billed for tuition one semester at a time, prior to the beginning of that semester. Monthly statements will reflect all adjustments resulting from drops, adds, late fees, and financial aid changes. Tuition for both Mini A and Mini B is due (minus anticipated financial aid) by the first day of the Mini A semester. (See current tuition rates and due dates.) A Late Payment Fee will be added approximately 30 days later and is equal to 2% (assessed monthly) of the outstanding balance.  Third-party billing authorizations received after this date and employer/sponsor reimbursements which are contingent upon course completion and/or a satisfactory grade will not exempt the student from stated due dates and the assessment of a 2% (assessed monthly) Late Fee.

A HOLD will be placed on a student's record if he/she has an outstanding balance with the University. This hold will block course registration for the next semester and prohibit the issue of transcripts or official verification of enrollment. Students are responsible for paying tuition on time even if a bill is not received.

Payment should be mailed to Washington University at PO Box 14627, St. Louis, MO 63150-4627 or delivered to Student Financial Services at North Brookings Hall, Lower Level, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Payment will not be accepted in the MBA Programs Office.

Payment can be handled in any of the following or a combination of the following ways:
