Class Profiles
What sets Olin students apart from other prospective hires? Of course, their own unique attributes and abilities. But their marketability also comes from Olin's individualized curriculum, with courses tailored to developing those skills and competencies required to fulfill each student's personal career goals. Learning is enhanced through case studies, group discussions, and team projects. A large variety of extracurricular activities further enhance their business knowledge and leadership skills, yielding valuable experience for your organization.
In addition, Olin's array of experiential learning programs enables students to apply what they've learned in the classroom to actual business challenges. Olin interns and graduates come to you well prepared to make an immediate, positive impact on your organization.
Olin's nationally recognized undergraduate and MBA programs attract top candidates with impressive scholastic achievements, diverse backgrounds, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence. Four programs — Master in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelors in Science, Business Administration (BSBA), Master in Accounting (MACC), and Master of Science in Finance — allow you to choose from a variety of skill sets and experience levels when adding talent for your organization.
MBA
Our average MBA is 28 years old, with four to five years of work experience. A class comprises about 140 students, with 25 percent female, 10 percent minority, and 35 percent international. A condensed core of required courses allows MBAs to begin taking electives during the second semester. By the end of the first year, when they go into the market for internships, they are able to demonstrate their specialized capabilities for particular careers. MBAs are interested in a variety of industries and have undergraduate majors that range from engineering and computer science to the humanities.
BSBA
The typical BSBA class consists of 170 to 200 students, with 39 percent female, 25 percent minority, and 8 percent international. Olin attracts top students from national and international high schools: 67 percent of the students in recent freshman classes ranked in the top five percent of their high school classes. BSBAs begin business courses in their freshman year. The flexibility of choosing up to 60 percent of their course work from Arts & Sciences, Engineering, and other academic divisions ensures a well-rounded educational experience.
MACC
A Master of Accounting program is available for students, from Washington University or elsewhere, seeking a career in accounting and CPA certification.
Master of Science in Finance
A specialized graduate program for students interested in entry-level career opportunities in quantitative financial and corporate financial management.
